Question:
If you have a 60 degree sand wedge with 10 degree bounce and a 60 degree lob wedge with 10 degree bounce, is it the same club? If not what's the difference?
Answer:
The sand wedge typically has more heel-toe camber, more sole width (the distance between the leading and trailing edge) and not so sharp of a leading edge than a lob wedge. This is what gives the sand wedge an oval shape on the bottom of the face. These features are designed to help reduce the risk of the club digging in to the ground.
